Day of Event Information for VIPs

Dear Make ‘m Smile VIP,

We are excited that you are planning to join us for our 7^th Annual Make ‘m Smile on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. We have a great day of fun and lots of smiles planned in honor of you and your family. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever before! Please carefully review the following “day of” information and map.

• Parking: The map will help you become familiar with the parking lots we have secured close to Lake Eola. BONUS: For your convenience, there will be a loading/unloading area near our registration areas (click here to see map). There will also be a free valet parking service available, reserved for those that might need the extra assistance. To assist our parking team in directing you to the VIP parking areas, click here to print the parking pass to place on your dashboard. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Registration: Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. When you arrive, you must check in at one of the two registration areas located near Robinson & Rosalind or Robinson & Eola Drive. Just look for the yellow tents! When you check in, you will receive your wristband, which will give you access to the event and all of the FREE food & goodies (while supplies last). From there you will be directed to meet your Buddy and begin the Buddy Stroll. Please let the volunteers at the Buddy Match-Up area know if you would prefer a Buddy that speaks Spanish or knows ASL, if one is available at that time.

• Buddy Stroll: We encourage you to take this opportunity to educate your Buddy about your story and some of the unique challenges that a family with a VIP kid might face. Please note that the Buddies from our community may not be directly affiliated with Nathaniel’s Hope. Please do NOT leave your child unattended with your Buddy.

• Lots to see and do: Take the time to review the schedule (click here) so you can plan your day accordingly. There will be continuous fun for the whole family, including some additional items just for your VIP! At the 10:15 a.m. show at the Amphitheatre, celebrities from the community will be there to meet and greet you! You could also win theme park tickets to SeaWorld, Aquatica & Discovery Cove! (You must be present to win.)

• Respite Care Tent: For your convenience, there will be a tent available to tend to some of your child’s special needs. There will be a private changing area with a cot as well as electricity available.

• Weather: RAIN OR SHINE - COME! We will be there… unless there is a tropical storm or hurricane in the area! Be sure to bring your umbrella for help with shade from the sun or protection from the rain! For any important last minute “day-of” information, you will be able to get the most current information by tuning in to Z88.3 (ZRadio.org), WFTV Channel 9 (www.wftv.com), looking at the Make 'm Smile pages of this website, or our office at 407-857-8224.

If you know of any others that would like to participate as VIPs, Buddies, or Sponsors, invite them to register online or call our office at 407-857-8224. VIPs and Buddies can register on Saturday morning, but we prefer pre-registration.
