Buddy Break Basic Leadership Training (BLT)

Buddy Break Basic Leadership Training (BLT) will equip you to lead the Buddy Break ministry at your church and engage you in the National Buddy Break Network. BLT will include the opportunity to observe Buddy Break LIVE and learn about the program hands-on while walking through the details of managing the program. The training environment will be interactive, practical, and relaxed! The only requirements for attendance are a signed Buddy Break Agreement and $300 for the Buddy Break start-up kit.

When: February 6-7, 2009 and April 17-18, 2009 (choose to attend in either February or April)

Where: Orlando, FL

Schedule

Training will start at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and run through 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Your 24 hours in Orlando will be packed full of information so come prepared! You will get to participate in Buddy Break at one of our local churches to get a feel for how the program works. Here is a tentative schedule so you can plan your time:

• Friday @ 2:30 p.m. – Shuttle departs Orlando Hampton Inn for training
• Friday @ 3:00-9:00 p.m. – Training Session I @ BB Location #1
• Friday @ 9:00 p.m. – Shuttle returns to hotel

• Saturday @ 7:30 a.m. – Shuttle departs Orlando Hampton Inn for training (if you are only staying at the hotel one night, you will need to check out of your hotel prior to leaving for training)
• Saturday @ 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. – Breakfast & Training Session II @ BB Location #2
• Saturday @ 3:00 p.m. – Training ends

Please fill out the form and return it to Nathaniel’s Hope by January 23 (for February BLT) or April 3 (for April BLT). You may send it to us by mail or fax (as listed on the form) or you can call our office at 407-857-8224 to register.

Price

The training is completely free. The only requirements for attending are a signed Buddy Break Agreement and $300 for the Buddy Break start-up kit. These need to be received prior to your arrival. All of your meals and transportation to/from the training site will be covered by Nathaniel’s Hope. You will be responsible for your hotel costs and any other transportation you may need.*

*If you are staying at this hotel, there is a free shuttle to/from the Orlando International Airport. When you arrive at the airport, find the courtesy phones to call the hotel and tell them that you’re in Terminal A or B.

Attire

Your time at Buddy Break may involve interacting with the kids so it is best to dress comfortably. Although you’re coming to Florida, it may be helpful to have a light jacket/wrap since conference room temperatures can fluctuate.
