Joni and Friends exists to communicate the gospel and equip Christ-honoring churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disability. They have a variety of programs and services such as radio broadcast and daily devotionals, family retreats, wheelchair outreach, and training and curriculum guides including “On a Roll for Jesus!,” a disability awareness program and missions curriculum for kids.

Access Ministry is McLean’s incredible ministry to kids with special needs. The church regularly holds Accessibility Summit (usually in April), a conference to equip churches for disability ministry.

Special Touch Ministry was founded by Rev. Charles and Debbie Chivers in 1982. Since that time, the Chivers have dedicated their lives as full-time missionaries working with people with disabilities. Special Touch is a non-profit Christian organization, interdenominational in scope, committed to evangelizing and providing support services to people with mental or physical disabilities, their families and caregivers.


Special Touch Ministry, Inc. is continually expanding to meet the needs represented in the community of people with disabilities. Current operating programs and services, as well as future goals, include local Christian respite care programs and Local Fellowship Chapters, the National Summer Get Away Program which is designed to be a Christian vacation/retreat experience for those with physical and/or mental disabilities and their families, Sunday School curriculum for people with mental disabilities, a wide scale counseling program, and independent and supportive Christian housing for people with mental and physical disabilities.

Capernaum is a program of Young Life designed especially for kids and young adults with disabilities. Young people with disabilities – like their able-bodied peers – have hopes and dreams, needs, and fears. Capernaum provides a place where they can share their struggles and be encouraged to be all that God designed them to be.
